Multi-axle special-purpose vehicles refer to automobiles and trailers with three or more axles, equipped with specialized equipment or specially modified for specialized transportation tasks (such as transporting overweight or oversized goods) or special production operations. These vehicles are core equipment supporting large-scale infrastructure projects (such as wind power installation and bridge engineering) in national economic development.

Based on their purpose and structure, multi-axle special-purpose vehicles are mainly divided into the following categories: Heavy-duty multi-axle semi-trailers/axle trucks
Definition: Generally refers to special vehicles with more than 5 axles, used for transporting single oversized and overweight goods, commonly known as "heavy-haul transport vehicles" or "all-terrain vehicles."

Technical characteristics: Adopts a modular hydraulic assembly design, supporting macro and micro assembly to adapt to goods of different sizes; possesses all-wheel steering function, small turning radius, and high maneuverability; load capacity ranges from tens of tons to thousands of tons.

Typical applications: Large wind power equipment (towers, blades), overweight precast beams, large chemical containers, missile road freight, etc.

Low-Flatbed Semi-Trailer

Definition: A specialized transport vehicle used for transporting large, non-detachable equipment such as excavators and loading machines. Its loading area has a low relative height from the ground and often employs a gooseneck structure.

Advantages: Improves driving stability by lowering the center of gravity, suitable for transporting various engineering machinery and large-diameter goods.

Self-Propelled Multi-Axle Truck

Definition: A specialized truck with its own power and multi-axle drive/steering system, not a trailer.

High Load Capacity: The more axles, the more evenly the load is distributed across each axle, significantly increasing the overall load capacity. For example, each axle can carry approximately 27 tons, and by splicing, it can meet transportation needs in the hundreds of tons range.

Flexible Steering: Multi-axle vehicles often employ all-wheel steering or specific axle steering technology, effectively reducing rutting and maintaining a small turning radius in complex road conditions, solving the problem of difficult U-turns for traditional long-wheelbase vehicles.

High Stability: The multi-wheel contact design significantly reduces front-to-back sway and the risk of "death sway" during driving. Combined with air suspension or hydraulic suspension systems, it can filter road bumps and protect delicate or fragile goods.
